IP Rating (Ingress Protection)
Two-digit code indicating protection against solid objects (first digit, 0–6) and water (second digit, 0–9).
IP54 is standard for outdoor substations (dust-protected, splash-proof). IP65 or higher is required for harsh environments (dust-tight, water jet protection). IP23 is typical for indoor dry-type transformers (drip-proof). The enclosure IP rating determines the transformer's suitability for different installation environments and directly impacts ventilation, cooling efficiency, and maintenance access.
