C5-M (Corrosion Protection Class)
Highest corrosion protection class under ISO 12944, required for coastal, offshore, and highly corrosive industrial environments.
C5-M (Marine) involves multi-coat paint systems with total dry film thickness of 320–500 μm. The system typically includes: zinc-rich primer (80 μm), epoxy intermediate coat (160 μm), and polyurethane topcoat (80 μm). Surface preparation to Sa 2½ (near-white blast) is mandatory. C5-M is standard for all ETS transformers destined for Gulf coastal installations, offshore platforms, and desalination plants. The 'M' suffix specifically denotes marine/coastal environments with high salt exposure.
