    Do you provide factory acceptance testing (FAT)?

    Yes. All transformers undergo routine testing per IEC 60076 or ANSI/IEEE C57. We welcome client-witnessed FAT at our ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited laboratory in Dubai. Third-party witnessed testing by KEMA, CESI, or INTERTEK can also be arranged.

    Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) is a cornerstone of transformer quality assurance and a contractual milestone in most procurement contracts. At ETS, our testing laboratory is ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited — the highest international standard for testing and calibration laboratories.

    Routine Tests (performed on every unit)

    • Ratio and vector group verification
    • Winding resistance measurement
    • No-load losses and current
    • Load losses and impedance voltage
    • Insulation resistance (IR) and polarisation index (PI)
    • Induced overvoltage withstand test (ACSD/ACLD)
    • Applied voltage test
    • Partial discharge measurement (<10 pC)

    Type Tests (performed on first unit of a design)

    • Temperature rise test
    • Lightning impulse test (BIL)
    • Switching impulse test (for ≥170 kV)
    • Short-circuit withstand test (KEMA-witnessed)

    Special Tests (on request)

    • Sound level measurement (IEC 60076-10)
    • Harmonic analysis of no-load current
    • Sweep frequency response analysis (SFRA)
    • Dissolved gas analysis (DGA) baseline

    Clients are welcome to witness testing in person. We provide full hospitality arrangements for visiting delegations. Test reports are issued with traceable measurement uncertainty and calibration certificates for all instruments used.
