    Secondary Winding

The winding connected to the load (output side) of a transformer. It receives energy from the magnetic field created by the primary winding.

The secondary winding is typically the low-voltage (LV) winding in step-down transformers. It carries higher current at lower voltage. In power transformers, the secondary is positioned closest to the core with helical or layer winding for high-current applications. The turns ratio (N_primary / N_secondary) determines the voltage transformation ratio. Multiple secondary windings can provide different voltage outputs from a single transformer.
